About Duncan Dermatology

Duncan Dermatology provides compassionate and uncompromising patient care with an emphasis on medical dermatology, skin cancer surveillance and prevention, and aesthetic dermatology focusing on healthy skin.

We take pride in providing high-quality, patient-centered care with thoroughness and attention to details. Our board-certified, experienced providers are also good listeners, addressing patient concerns and getting to the bottom of things to figure out solutions.

Meet Our Team

Karynne O. Duncan, M.D.

Dr. Kary Duncan, founder of Duncan Dermatology in 2003, is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  She completed a residency and was selected as a chief medical resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  She then went on to complete a residency in Dermatology and was again chosen as a chief medical resident at Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to moving to the Napa Valley in 2002, Dr. Duncan was on faculty at the University of Colorado in both the departments of Internal Medicine and Dermatology, and she also served as the Assistant Chief of Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital.

Dr. Duncan is board certified both in Internal Medicine and Dermatology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).  She remains active in the world of academic dermatology as a Director of the American Board of Dermatology and as an author of various publications. She’s received numerous awards, including “Best Doctors in America” and “The Bay Area’s Top Doctors Award.”

Carlos Wolf, M.D.

Plastic surgery expert Dr. Carlos Wolf regularly visits Duncan Dermatology to administer injectables. 

A partner at Miami Plastic Surgery with more than thirty years-experience, Dr. Wolf received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed a residency in Head/Neck surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans. He then completed his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

He is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. 

Megan Hession, M.D.

Dr. Meghan Hession is a colleague from the Golden State Dermatology network, having practiced in the Bay Area for the past 9 years. Her dedication is evident in each treatment, and she embraces daily opportunities to educate patients on the importance of healthy skin.

Dr. Hession is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Areas of special interest for Dr. Hession include aesthetic injectable treatments such as neuromodulators and dermal fillers as well as lasers and radiofrequency skin tightening. She is passionate about sharing her skills and knowledge for the benefit of the St. Helena community.

Lisa Aldrich, BSN, MSN, APRN

A practicing nurse since 1986, Lisa’s nursing career began in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, where she worked for five years before transferring to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus. After nearly 20 years as an RN, she decided to specialize in dermatology and pursued a Master of Science degree in nursing from Yale University in 2005.

Lisa performs total body skin exams, skin biopsies, and minor surgical procedures to treat many diseases of the skin, hair and nails. She also uses the Aerolase LightPod Neo® laser for acne, skin rejuvenation, and psoriasis.

Lisa loves her profession and has a passion for providing the best possible care while educating patients with a friendly approach that puts people at ease. She has been an active member of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association since 2003 and is a past president of the Northern California DNA Chapter. She is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician’s Assistants.

Originally from Madison, Connecticut, Lisa relocated to Napa in 2007. She and her husband have a small home vineyard and enjoy making wine with friends.

Daisy Hoffert, PA

Daisy Hoffert, PA-C, MPAS, is a skilled physician assistant specializing in dermatology. She brings over 12 years of experience as a physician assistant and is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Daisy is a Northern Nevada native who received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada at Reno and completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Touro University in Nevada. Daisy has specialized in medical and surgical dermatology for five years and trained under a Mohs surgeon for several years with a focus on moderate to complex surgical repairs. She also brings a vast array of experience from her years working in multiple fields, including emergency medicine, pain management, and hospitalist medicine, in the Department of Corrections and as part of a team at the US McMurdo Station in Antarctica.

Dedicated to patient education, Daisy encourages her patients to be active participants in their care. As a result, she prides herself on being an advocate for her patients with a focus on navigating the complex and ever-changing healthcare system. She provides appropriate and effective treatments while maintaining her patient’s quality of life.

When she’s not working, Daisy volunteers for skin cancer screenings with the Carson Tahoe Hospital Cancer Center. She is also an avid world traveler and loves spending time outdoors hiking, cycling, camping, golfing, and spending time with family.

Daisy is affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants.

Tasha Abri, Skin Therapist

With over ten years of experience in the skincare field, Tasha focuses on the latest in medical aesthetic techniques, treatments, and therapies, with a desire to help her patients look and feel their best. 

Having grown up around the medical aesthetic world, Tasha was interested in skin care from a young age.  Certified in chemical peeling and microdermabrasion, Tasha enjoys furthering her expertise through educational workshops.  As a results-driven Skin Therapist she is focusing on the medical facials offered at Duncan Dermatology, HydraFacialMD, chemical peels, and microcurrent.  She enjoys the intricacies each patient brings and is excited to educate patients on the importance of the health and care of their skin. 

In her free time, Tasha enjoys time with her husband, three children, and their dog.  They love trips to Tahoe and traditional Persian family dinners.  

Saskia Akey, Skin Therapist

Having grown up in Northern California, watching her aesthetician mother open and grow a local Napa spa, skin care runs deep within Saskia.  

Throughout her time in college, Saskia’s passion for health and nutrition guided her, ultimately leading her to pursue a career in skin care. Like mother – like daughter, Saskia approaches her skin care treatments in a balanced and holistic way – realizing that each patient is unique, with varying concerns. Saskia brings fresh eyes, techniques and ideas into each treatment, educating each patient and helping him/her achieve their skin care goals.

Saskia is certified in microdermabrasion, advanced light technology, chemical peeling, microcurrent and nutrition. She is constantly looking to further educate herself in the newest modalities. Interested in furthering her knowledge and career, Saskia is working on becoming certified in lymphatic drainage. She eventually hopes to pursue a nursing career specializing in skin health and cosmetic treatments.  

In her free time, you can find Saskia in a Bikram yoga or spin class, or running the streets of Napa. She enjoys traveling, camping, and researching the latest trends in skin care! 

Shelley Henry, Skin Therapist

Shelley is a licensed aesthetician with 15 year of medical/clinical experience. She is dedicated to providing exceptional skin care services and treatment solutions tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

With a passion for skin health and beauty, Shelley combines her expertise with a keen eye for detail to deliver personalized care and stunning results.

Whether addressing specific skin concerns or maintaining a glowing, healthy complexion, Shelley is committed to helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals.

Liz Shepherd, Skin Therapist

With over 15 years’ experience in the skincare field, Liz uses the latest techniques, therapies, and treatments to help her patients look and feel their personal best.

A teenage sufferer of acne, Liz’s self-consciousness about her skin ignited her passion to pursue a career as an aesthetician. Liz is certified in microdermabrasion, Revitalite Advanced Light Technology, Ultra Sonic Skin Care Scrubber, chemical peels, and MicroCurrent. She frequently enhances her skills with educational workshops at some of the nation’s top skin institutes. At Duncan Dermatology she is focused on results-driven treatments and offers acne facials, medical facials, anti-aging facials, chemical peels and HydraFacial® MD.

In her spare time Liz travels and enjoys spending time with husband and “fur children” Lucky and Eli.
